Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Secondary Pastoral Lead to join our team at a vibrant secondary school in Clapham, Greater London. In this role, you will lead and oversee the pastoral care and support systems within the school, promoting student welfare, behaviour, and mental well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to promote student welfare, behaviour, and mental well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to address pastoral issues and support students facing personal, social, or emotional challenges
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student welfare and behaviour management

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Valid Safeguarding and Child Protection training certification
  • Experience working in a similar pastoral care role within an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of child protection policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership or Pastoral Care
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies or associations

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
  • Work within a secondary school environment in Clapham, Greater London
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for school events or meetings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
