About Us:
Our secondary school in the B37 area of Birmingham prides itself on its calm, focused classrooms, designed to create excellent learning spaces for pupils to excel. Their carefully sequenced lessons are in place to ensure effective learning is evident. We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate teacher of English to join our English department on a full-time basis. We hope the suitable candidate will bring a passion for literature and language, instilling this love and passion into our students. Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire students to excel in English. You will work closely with the English department to ensure all students receive high-quality instruction, fostering both skills and a love for the subject. The successful candidate will be adaptable, creative, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for all learners.

 


Ideal Candidate:

- Hold a UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

- Have relevant, recent experience teaching English within UK secondary schools

- Strong classroom presence and excellent behaviour management skills

- Commuincate effectively with all staff, pupils and parents

- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment where all pupils feel comfortable 

 

Roles/Responsibilities:

- Provide regular opportunities for pupils to progress in their learning and feel a sense of accomplishment

- Plan and deliver a range of English Language and Literature lessons to suit the individual needs of each class

- Regularly provide feedback to pupils in an informative manner, maintaining positive reinforcement

- Prepare students for examinations and assessments, providing tailored guidance

- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to wider school community through active engagement with parents evenings & extra curricular activities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
