Are you an experienced Head of Year or Pastoral Lead looking for a new challenge?
A large secondary school close to central Birmingham are looking to add a pastoral lead to the team to support children who have faced academic and social barriers. This role requires a Pastoral Lead who is an excellent communicator and understand the challenges that young people face. As a pastoral Lead at this school, you will be providing support across Key Stage 4, delivering 1-2-1 intervention sessions and supporting teaching staff with classroom management. This school has outstanding leadership and you will be joining an experienced and proactive team of Pastoral Leads. This role requires precious experience as a Pastoral Lead, Head of Year or Behaviour Lead within a school setting.
The role is full time and looking for someone to start ASAP.
Roles and responsibilties
• To contribute to the whole School Improvement Plan
• To contribute to and support the Key Stage Learning Co-ordinator in planning programmes of intervention for those students who show significant underachievement and barriers to learning Student Management
• To participate in the development and implementation of strategies to maintain acceptable student behaviour
• To be responsible for the management of student behaviour within the year group
• To develop and implement strategies to ensure that the year group attendance and punctuality is at or above the school target
• To develop and manage systems for the monitoring and tracking of students out of lessons
• To establish and manage a programme of enrichment activities to enhance motivation and raise attainment
• To motivate and reward student and work with teachers to ensure they continue to motivate as well as challenge students
• To participate with the Key Stage Learning Coordinators in the planning and delivery of year group assemblies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
