About the Role

  • Alternative Provisions: Offering creative and flexible approaches for students who cannot access mainstream education due to behavioural or emotional barriers. These settings focus on nurturing personal development as well as academic achievement.

  • Pupil Referral Units (PRUs): Supporting pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools, with a strong emphasis on pastoral care, reintegration strategies, and core subject delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering differentiated Maths lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students

  • Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Working closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement effective strategies

  • Managing classroom behaviour positively and constructively

  • Monitoring progress and adjusting teaching strategies to support each learner’s development

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Maths, ideally in SEN/SEMH or alternative education settings (preferred but not essential)

  • A flexible and resilient attitude, with a strong desire to support vulnerable learners

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • A commitment to inclusive and trauma-informed education

What We Offer:

  • Flexible working options to suit your lifestyle – full-time, part-time, or ad-hoc

  • Weekly PAYE pay with no hidden fees

  • Access to ongoing professional development and training

  • Support from a dedicated consultant experienced in SEN placements
