Location: Levenshulme, Manchester

Salary: Paid in line with the teacher’s payscale (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Levenshulme, Manchester to appoint a dedicated and dynamic Maths Teacher. This is a full-time position starting in September and is to cover a long-term requirement within the Maths department.

The school is praised for its inclusive ethos, high academic standards, and a supportive working environment that fosters both student and staff development. The Maths department is well-resourced and led by a forward-thinking leadership team who are committed to delivering high-quality education.

This role is ideal for a passionate Maths Teacher who is eager to make a lasting impact on students' learning and progress. ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential Key Stage 5 depending on experience).

  • Use a range of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching where necessary to ensure all learners are supported.

  • Create a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment where pupils are encouraged to excel.

  • Prepare students for GCSE assessments, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed.

  • Contribute to the wider Maths department by collaborating on curriculum development and sharing best practices.

  • Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions and school events as required.

  • Uphold high standards of classroom behaviour and demonstrate consistent classroom management.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting, ideally across KS3 and KS4.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for mathematics education.

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.

  • A commitment to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel.
