Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Epping

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans to support the academic progress of students
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to enhance students' understanding and confidence in the subjects
  • Monitor and assess students' progress regularly to adjust teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student support

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEN students in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • A relevant degree in Education or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering effective tutoring or teaching sessions
  • Understanding of SEN support strategies and methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in SEN education or specific learning difficulties
  • Experience working in outreach or community-based educational programmes

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, with flexibility in scheduling tutoring sessions
  • Work primarily in educational settings such as schools or community centres or learners homes
  • Potential travel within the East of England region may be required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
