Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE Intervention Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Witham

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths GCSE intervention sessions to students
  • Create individualised learning plans to address specific learning needs
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to improve students' understanding and performance
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to provide feedback on student development

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching English and Maths at GCSE level
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum and assessment requirements

Education:

A relevant Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Passion for helping students achieve their academic goals
  • Experience in delivering targeted intervention strategies

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis in a learners home or community setting in Witham, Essex. The tutor will need to be flexible in their approach and able to work collaboratively with school staff and parents.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
