Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 LAC Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, South Ockendon

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 Looked After Children (LAC)
  • Create engaging lesson plans and learning materials
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers and social workers to support students' educational needs
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with Looked After Children
  • Strong knowledge of the English and Maths Key Stage 3 curriculum

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably with LAC students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency in using educational technology
  • Specialist training in working with vulnerable children

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis. The tutor will be based in South Ockendon, Essex, and may need to travel to different locations within the East of England region. The work environment will include educational settings such as schools and community centres or students homes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
