SEN HLTA & Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Skelmersdale

A specialist SEN school in Skelmersdale is looking for an experienced HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) and Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and compassionate professional to support students with additional needs on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

The Role:

  • Providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, including autism and complex learning difficulties

  • Delivering interventions and supporting learning under the guidance of the class teacher

  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

  • Leading small group sessions and covering classes as required (HLTA role)

  • Supporting students' communication and social development in a structured and nurturing environment

What We’re Looking For:

  • HLTA qualification or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or specialist setting

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting learning and behaviour management

Contract Details:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
