Are you a recent psychology graduate eager to make a meaningful impact?
If you’re looking for your next career move and want to work in an environment that fosters personal and professional growth, we have the perfect opportunity for you. We're seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working with students aged 5-16 who may experience anxiety, depression, emotional regulation challenges, behavioural needs, and communication difficulties. Empathy, compassion, and understanding are key in this role, and you will be pivotal in creating a safe, nurturing environment where students can thrive both academically and emotionally.
Position Details
- Start Date: Immediate, continuing until the end of the academic year
• Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, term time only (Part-time and full-time options available)
• Location: South Bristol
• Parking: On-site parking and accessible bus routes
• Potential Contract: There’s the possibility of a contract with the school for the right candidate
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with Teachers: Assist in delivering the school’s curriculum, supporting students individually or in small groups.
• Inclusive Classroom Support: Work alongside a team of teaching assistants to provide tailored support to 8-10 students per classroom.
• Build Trusting Relationships: Develop strong, supportive relationships with students, guiding their emotional and academic development.
• Create a Safe and Engaging Environment: Ensure that each student feels welcomed, included, and motivated to succeed.
• Foster Academic and Emotional Growth: Support the foundation for students to excel not just in academics, but also in managing their emotions and social interactions.
Who We’re Looking For
- A Genuine Passion for SEN/SEMH: You should be deeply motivated to work with children who have additional needs and want to make a real difference in their lives.
• No Experience Necessary: While experience is beneficial, we value dedication, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
• Personal Experience is a Plus: If you’ve worked with SEN/SEMH children or have personal experience with mental health challenges, that’s a bonus, but it’s not required.
• Strong Communication & Behaviour Management Skills: You should be able to effectively communicate with children and manage classroom behaviour in a positive way.
Why Choose Teaching Personnel?
- Flexible Work Options: Choose your own hours! Work anywhere from 1 to 5 days per week, depending on your availability.
• Weekly Pay: Enjoy the convenience of weekly pay through PAYE, meaning no deductions from umbrella companies.
• Professional Development: Access ongoing training, including team-teaching workshops, to support your growth and expertise.
• Referral Bonus: Earn £50 for every friend you refer to us!
• Dedicated Support: A personal consultant will guide and support you throughout your journey with us.
