The Headteacher of a large Preston Primary School has approached Teaching Personnel to secure and appoint a strong Teaching Assistant to provide specialist support across their Lower Key Stage 2 Classes. The Head teacher has an experienced and settled team of staff, who are willing to go the extra mile in order to make a difference on a day to day basis to the lives of each child within the school. The school is located in the central Preston area and the children who attend the school arrive from various backgrounds.  Senior Leaders expect staff across the school to support each other and have ‘all hands on deck’. The class teachers in the department are highly experienced and there are the two other support assistants. In this role you will be expected to work with small groups of children (Key Worker Groups). As part of your support, you will be expected to work alongside children with varying abilities and language skills. You will follow specific children around the provision and gain assessment detail in order track progress. On arrival, you will be given a full induction, and be made to feel welcome in your new role.

So, what are the requirements to apply for this role?

Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification and or an equivalent certificate.

Recent experience working alongside children in a Primary School or Childcare setting.

You must hold a hard-working and committed attitude to raising standards in the class room.

Full time immediate availability!

The role is to start as soon as possible, continuing until at least July 2025 on a full time basis – this is a permanent vacancy and the Headteacher is keen to see how staff perform on a supply basis before employing support staff on a school contract. The expected working hours for this role are from 0845-1530 every day. The successful candidate will be expected to apply through Teaching Personnel, interview with the Head teacher and SENCO as well as spend some time in the class room with the children. The process for applying through Teaching Personnel is very quick and efficient. You will be assigned a specialist consultant who will guide you through the process. Rates of pay are competitive starting at £12.90 per hour and are paid on a weekly basis.
