Job Title: Autism Support Worker

Job Description

Job Duties:

• Provide one-to-one support to individuals with autism in educational settings
• Assist with the implementation of personalised care plans
• Support individuals in developing social skills and independence
• Help create and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the individual's needs are met

Required Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or a related field
• Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and appropriate support strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

• Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

• Previous experience working with individuals with autism is desirable
• Experience in an educational or care setting is advantageous

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulations
• Ability to adapt support techniques to meet individual needs
• Basic IT skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
• Training in autism-specific interventions

Working Conditions:

• This is a temporary position based in an educational setting
• Full-time hours are expected with potential for additional hours as needed
• May involve some physical activity and assisting individuals with personal care tasks
