Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant

Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive (based on experience and qualifications)
Start Date: March 2025 

Are you passionate about early childhood education and eager to support young learners in taking their first steps on their educational journey? We are seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and nurturing primary school in Burnley.

About the Role:

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide a high standard of support for children in our Reception class. You will play a key role in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that supports the emotional, social, and educational development of each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities.
  • Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Help to assess and monitor children’s progress, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Promote positive behaviour and manage transitions throughout the school day.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of children at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in EYFS/Reception or nurseries is essential.
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • A solid understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and patient approach to working with young children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
