Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs
Full-Time | Temporary with Potential for Permanency
A specialist school in Woodchurch is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students aged 11-19 with special educational needs. This is a full-time temporary role with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The school provides a high-quality education in a purpose-built environment, designed to engage, support, and challenge pupils, helping them to develop independence and achieve their full potential. The curriculum is tailored to meet individual needs, ensuring a personalised and enjoyable learning experience.
The ideal candidate will be understanding, caring, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with students. Forming these bonds is essential in providing the best possible support and encouraging each pupil to thrive. A compassionate and patient approach, along with a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment, is key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with special educational needs in both group and one-to-one settings.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Assisting with the implementation of personalised learning plans.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support their development.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable.
- A nurturing and patient approach to supporting students.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to helping students develop their independence and confidence.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
