Exciting Opportunity for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant with a Focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant, specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), to join a fantastic primary school in Wavertree (L15) This is a long-term position starting after Easter and continuing for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to go permanent. The school is seeking a committed support staff member to provide individualised assistance to a reception class pupil who requires both academic and social support.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience working with SEN pupils and a strong understanding of effective de-escalation techniques. The specific pupil in question follows a personalised education plan tailored to their SEMH needs, highlighting the school’s high regard for prior experience in delivering regular updates and progress reports.

This role operates from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm and offers the added benefit of being part of a highly regarded school community. The school, which holds a positive Ofsted rating and has been consistently oversubscribed for several years, takes pride in maintaining exemplary pupil behaviour. It is keen to recruit staff who recognise the importance of upholding high standards.

As the successful candidate, you will receive dedicated support from the SENCO, who will provide additional training and professional development to ensure you are equipped to deliver optimal support to the pupil.
