1-1 Learning Support Assistants – SEMH & SEN School (Wirral)

About the School

We are working with a dedicated SEMH and Special Educational Needs school in the Wirral, committed to creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Their focus is on helping every child reach their full potential by providing tailored support and interventions that meet their individual needs.

The Role

We are looking for experienced 1-1 Learning Support Assistants to join the team and work closely with students who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your role will be vital in ensuring they receive the right support to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1-1 support to students with SEND, helping them engage with learning.
  • Assist students in managing and overcoming challenging behaviours.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to break down barriers to education.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly SEMH.
  • Confidence in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to helping children thrive in a supportive environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
