Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within an SEN Hub in a primary school in Huyton, Liverpool.
Location: Huyton, Liverpool
Start Date: January 2025
Employment Type: Full-time, long-term with the potential for permanent placement
About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with SEMH needs within the school's SEN Hub. Working closely with staff and specialists, you will create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages pupils to engage with learning and develop their emotional resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils' individual needs.
- Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised support plans.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and independence.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs or in a similar role.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
- Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions (training can be provided).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
