KS2 Teaching Assistant

An average sized primary school on the outskirts of Preston have approached the agency to provide a member of staff who can work on a full-time basis in a KS2 class. The Head teacher is keen to temporarily appoint a member of staff who is Level 2 or above trained and experienced in working with individual and small groups of children. Specifically, the Head teacher has mentioned that the children who attend school arrive from a mixture of social backgrounds and so behaviour management is very important, particularly for temporary members of staff.

The school is graded good by Ofsted and the teaching and learning opportunities are very good. The Leadership is also very good, and the reputation of the school is growing in the local area. The children are happy and feel safe in the learning environment and always leave with a smile on their face. Recently, the school have worked hard to encourage parental involvement and community cohesion. As a result of this, the children are now being supported more at home; this is having a positive outcome on the learning and social aspect of the children’s development.

The role is an exciting one! If successful, you will be expected to undertake a role working approximately from 0900-1530 with some welfare cover work. You will be paid £10.77 per hour for your work and will be well supported by the class teachers and senior leaders in school. As the booking is initially through Teaching Personnel you will be given excellent opportunities to develop professionally through our market leading CPD Academy. You will be paid directly through a PAYE contract and receive a competitive daily rate for the hours worked.

In order to be considered for the role you must hold these pre-requisites.

Level 2 or above teaching assistant qualification (Degree Equivalent are accepted)

Recent experience of more than 25 working days in a KS2 classroom setting

Excellent classroom management

Ability to work in partnership with parents and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
