Maths Graduate Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Role in Stockport

Teaching Personnel is offering an exciting opportunity for a Maths Graduate Cover Supervisor to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Stockport. This is a full-time role starting immediately, running until the end of the academic year. There is the potential for a permanent position based on performance. The weekly pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500.

About the Role

This position is ideal for recent maths graduates looking to gain classroom experience and develop their skills in a school setting. As a Maths Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across different subjects, with a focus on mathematics, ensuring a positive learning environment for students in the absence of their usual teacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising Lessons: Manage classes during teacher absences, following provided lesson plans to ensure students remain engaged and focused on their work.
  • Maths Support: Use your subject knowledge to provide additional support to students during maths lessons, helping them understand challenging concepts.
  • Maintaining Classroom Discipline: Uphold the school’s behaviour policies, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.
  • Building Relationships: Establish positive relationships with students, supporting their academic progress and promoting good behaviour.
  • Providing Feedback: Report back to teaching staff on student progress, behaviour, and any issues that arise during cover lessons.
  • Supporting the School Community: Assist with other duties as required, such as break/lunch supervision or helping with interventions for students who need extra support in maths.
