Religious Education (RE) Graduate Cover Supervisor – Full-Time Role
Location: Stockport
Contract: Full-time, starting ASAP until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Religious Education (RE) Graduate to join a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport. Rated Good by Ofsted, the school is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to work as a Cover Supervisor within their Humanities department. This role is an excellent pathway for graduates considering a career in teaching or for those with experience working with young people.

The Role:

As an RE Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, supervise students, and manage classroom behaviour. Although this is not a teaching role, it provides invaluable experience for those interested in pursuing a career in education.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising lessons across the Humanities department, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their work.
  • Delivering pre-set lesson materials and ensuring a productive learning environment.
  • Managing student behaviour in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Offering support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Reporting lesson progress and incidents to the relevant teaching staff.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject.
  • Has a strong interest in education and working with young people.
  • Can confidently manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Is reliable, proactive, and adaptable to different situations.
  • Previous experience working with young people (in schools, youth work, or similar roles) is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
