Future Teachers Programme – Graduate Internship (Maths Teacher)

Are you a Maths graduate looking to start a rewarding career in secondary education? Teaching Personnel’s Future Teachers Graduate Scheme offers a paid, structured pathway into teaching, providing invaluable school-based experience before progressing to a PGCE or Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.

About the Programme

This 12-month internship is designed for graduates passionate about teaching who want to gain first-hand classroom experience before starting formal teacher training. You’ll work full-time as a Cover Supervisor, supporting students and teachers while developing the key skills needed to become a successful Maths teacher.

Programme Details:

  • Start Date: September 2025 (immediate starts also available)
  • Location: Secondary schools across Greater Manchester (Manchester, Stockport, Salford, Trafford, Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, and Oldham)
  • Eligibility: Open to graduates with a degree in Mathematics or a related subject who are considering a career in teaching.

Your Role as a Future Teacher:

As part of the Future Teachers Programme, you’ll gain hands-on classroom experience in a Maths department, taking on key responsibilities such as:

  • Supporting students to improve their understanding and achievement in Maths.
  • Delivering small group tuition and one-on-one support.
  • Assisting with lesson planning, preparation, and classroom management.
  • Covering classes and helping to maintain a positive learning environment.

This experience will give you invaluable insight into the teaching profession while strengthening your subject knowledge and confidence in the classroom.

  • Have completed their degree by August 2025.

  • Can commit to a full-time internship (Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 3:00pm) from September 2025 to July 2026.
