Cover Supervisor

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school located in the heart of Stockport who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team starting after the February half term.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of learning for all students during the absence of teaching staff. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and have a desire to support young people in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise Classes: Oversee classes during the absence of teachers, ensuring that students engage with set work and maintain a productive learning environment.
• Support Student Learning: Provide assistance to students as needed, helping them understand tasks and encouraging participation.
• Behaviour Management: Implement school policies regarding behaviour management to ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Communication with Staff: Liaise with teaching staff regarding lesson plans, student needs, and any issues that arise during class supervision.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• An understanding of child development and educational practices is desirable but not essential.
• A positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration within the school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
