Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Outreach Tutor

Location:

England, Greater London, Rainham

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work part-time hours

Job Duties:

  • Provide English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an outreach setting.
  • Create individualised learning plans to cater to the specific needs of each student.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to facilitate student learning and progress.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external agencies to support students effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience working with students with SEN.
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience, preferably with SEN students.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs.
  • Training in specific learning difficulties support.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule.
  • Work in an outreach environment, possibly visiting multiple locations.
  • Collaborative work with school staff, parents, and external agencies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
