Job description

Job Title: English and Maths GCSE SEN Tutor

Location:

London, Barking

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) preparing for their GCSE exams
  • Create individualised lesson plans to cater to the specific learning requirements of each student
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Offer support and guidance to help students improve their academic performance
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching English and Maths at the GCSE level

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and methodologies
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in creating engaging and effective lesson plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Previous experience in tutoring students for GCSE exams

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school or learners home setting in Barking
  • Full-time hours with flexibility required based on student needs
  • Possibility of working with students one-on-one or in small groups

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
