Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN 1:1 Tutor

Job Duties

  • Provide 1:1 tutoring in English and Maths for Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised lesson plans based on students' learning needs
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure student success

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with SEN students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet individual student needs

Education

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience

Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching or tutoring

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) strategies and interventions
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques to support diverse learning styles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education or SEN
  • Experience in conducting assessments and tracking student progress

Working Conditions

  • Work on a part-time basis with flexible hours
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to support student learning
  • Conduct tutoring sessions in a classroom or designated learning space

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
