Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEMH Tutor

Location:

East of England, Suffolk, Barking

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver tailored English and Maths tuition to Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Create engaging lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles and abilities
  • Assess students' progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
  • Provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure student success

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Passion for supporting students with SEMH needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education Needs (SEN)
  • Experience with online teaching platforms

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, temporary position
  • Work in a school or home setting with students with SEMH needs
  • Potential for remote or online teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
