Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEMH Outreach Tutor

Location: England, Greater London, Enfield

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Deliver tailored outreach sessions to support students' academic progress and emotional well-being.
  • Create engaging lesson plans to meet the individual learning needs of students.
  • Assess students' progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in the UK.
  • Specialist knowledge in teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level.
  • Experience in working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEMH and different learning styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Organisational skills to plan and deliver effective tutoring sessions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or related field.
  • Additional training in behaviour management and safeguarding.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, with flexibility required to accommodate students' schedules.
  • Work may involve travel to students' homes or other outreach locations.
  • Collaboration with school staff and parents to ensure cohesive support for students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
