Job description

Do you have a passion for supporting young people to learn English as a Second Language (ESOL)? Are you empathetic and understanding towards non – native English speakers, who need help adjusting to a new life in the UK and need ESOL support on a 1:1 basis?

If yes, then I want to hear from you! I am currently recruiting for ESOL Tutors in Barking.

As an ESOL Tutor, you will be responsible for establishing a good working relationship with our young people, gauging their current working levels, and supporting them to bridge gaps in their learning, build confidence and consolidate their learning.

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Plan lessons and resources tailored to each learners needs and individualistic learning styles.
  • Deliver stimulating and interactive ESOL sessions to our young learners, who have different learning abilities.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback and session reports, on our bespoke learning platform called LEAP.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that instils confidence and motivates learners.

Requirements:

  • ESOL Qualified – CELTA or TESOL (or equivalent) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, so that you can interact well with our young people.
  • Must be empathetic, patient and supportive as our young people can be incredibly vulnerable, so creating a welcoming and inclusive working environment is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
