About Us:
Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking school committed to providing an outstanding education and fostering the personal development of all students. They are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Year to join their leadership team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the academic and personal journey of students in their designated year group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a year group, ensuring high standards of academic progress, behavior, and well-being.
  • Provide strong pastoral care and support for students, ensuring they thrive both personally and academically.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Develop and implement year group strategies for improving achievement, engagement, and attendance.
  • Monitor and track student progress and intervene when necessary to support students at risk of underachieving.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student feels valued and motivated.
  • Lead, inspire, and manage a team of tutors to deliver high-quality mentoring and guidance.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement whole-school policies and initiatives.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting (e.g., Head of Department, Assistant Head of Year).
  • A passion for working with young people and a commitment to supporting their personal growth and academic success.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students and staff.
  • Excellent understanding of the pastoral care system and the challenges students face.
  • A collaborative team player who can work effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Resilient, proactive, and adaptable with a strong commitment to continuous professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
