Job description

Teaching Personnel Birmingham are seeking a qualified and passionate Science teacher dedicated to the learning and development of all pupils within their care. We are working in partnership with an OFTSED rated "Good" secondary school in the Chelmsley Wood area of Birmingham (B37) to appoint an enthusiastic Science teacher on a full time basis.

 

Hours: Full Time

Location: B37

Rate of Pay: To scale (for full time positions)

Start Date: ASAP

 

The ideal applicant will possess the following qualities:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

- Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school

- Confident planning and delivering a range of science lessons covering topics in line with the national curriculum for Biology, Physics and Chemistry

- Strong classroom presence and confident with managing challenging behaviour

- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and principles and how to appropriately deal with these situations

 

You will be responsible for:

- planning a range of science lessons to suit the individual needs of each class 

- delivering engaging and dynamic science lessons, covering a wide range of topics

- regularly assessing pupils progress and providing them with relevant and timely feedback

- creating a fun and inclusive learning environment which encourages all pupils to thrive 

- collaborating effectively with colleagues within the department and wider school community

- communicating with parents on a regular basis, providing feedback regarding their childrens academic progress as well as any pastoral matters

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
