Job Title: Food Technology Teacher (Secondary Schools)
Location: Central Birmingham Area
Contract: Full-Time and long term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (MPS to UPS)
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a client Secondary school based close to central Birmingham. We are seeking ideally a fully qualified teacher (QTS), though we are also open to those with relevant experience in teaching or the food industry.
About the Role:
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will inspire students to develop practical cooking skills, an understanding of nutrition, and an appreciation for the importance of healthy eating. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring all students are supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to students in KS3 and KS4
- Develop schemes of work and assessments to track student progress
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage and support students in practical cooking lessons
- Work closely with the wider school community to support the development of students' skills
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are strictly adhered to in all practical lessons
Ideal Candidate:
- Fully qualified teacher (QTS) with a specialism in Food Technology, or qualified by experience
- A genuine passion for teaching food technology and working with young people
- Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire students
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in delivering practical and theoretical lessons
- Knowledge of current educational frameworks and health and safety guidelines in food technology

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
