Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a co-educational secondary school located in Waterlooville, catering for students aged 11 to 16 years.  The school provides a warm and friendly learning environment where staff know every student as an individual and are committed to academic success and excellent outcomes for all. The school was graded Good in all areas by Ofsted during the most recent inspection of March 2024. Inspectors highlighted several positive aspects, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. Pupils value the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and relationships between staff and pupils are based on mutual respect. The curriculum is designed around three central strands: “thinking hard,” “developing character,” and “understanding diversity.”

The school are seeking a Teacher of English, to join the department as soon as possible, for an initial period of half a term, until October 2024, though there is room for a permanent member of staff, or a longer-term contract should the successful educator wish.  The appointed educator would be required to teach English across KS3 and KS4, with planning and marking required.  The school will consider ECT’s as well as more experienced teachers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
