Location: Southampton
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £30,000 - £41,333 (MPR/UPR)
Key Stage: KS3/KS4

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in promoting a love of literature and language among students. You will:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Inspire students by teaching a diverse and enriching curriculum that spans classic literature, modern texts, poetry, and creative writing.
  • Encourage Progress: Track student progress and provide tailored feedback to help each student reach their full potential, working closely with support staff and parents when necessary.
  • Manage the Classroom: Create a positive and productive learning environment, managing classroom behaviour effectively and fostering a culture of mutual respect.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and planning of the English curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of students at different academic levels.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): You must have UK QTS and the right to work in the UK.
  • Experience: Proven experience teaching English to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is essential, with a track record of raising attainment.
  • Passion for English: A deep enthusiasm for teaching English and motivating students to enjoy literature and language.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Adaptability: The ability to differentiate instruction and support a wide range of student needs and abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
