We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Fareham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) who is committed to inspiring young minds and fostering a love of learning in the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for literature, a strong commitment to student development, and a creative approach to teaching.

 

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons that cater to a range of abilities across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will foster a love for reading and writing, helping students to develop essential literacy skills while encouraging analytical thinking.

The successful candidate will be expected to plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring students are well-prepared for their GCSE examinations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative and dynamic lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Assess, track, and monitor student progress, providing feedback and setting achievable targets.
  • Prepare students for external examinations, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work and share best teaching practices.
  • Participate in school meetings, parents' evenings, and extracurricular activities where necessary.

Requirements:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A thorough understanding of the English national curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Passion for teaching, with a creative approach to lesson planning and delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
