Role Overview:
The school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Teach a wide range of topics, including literature, creative writing, and language analysis.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Use innovative teaching strategies to inspire students and foster a deep understanding of English literature and language.
- Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and individual support where necessary.
- Participate in department planning meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum.
- Liaise with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and strategies to support learning.
- Engage in the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and school events.
- Participate in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay up-to-date with educational advancements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in English, Literature, or a closely related subject.
- Proven experience teaching English in a secondary school setting (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4).
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for literature and language.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
