Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to work at a secondary school in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will have a genuine love for teaching English and the ability to engage and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role is ideal for a dynamic teacher who is committed to making a positive difference in students’ lives and contributing to the overall success of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Foster a stimulating and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and interest in English.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and report progress to parents and senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A degree in an English-related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary school level (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and the desire to contribute to the school’s ethos and vision.
