Behavioural Support Assistant in Havant

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking new behaviour support assistants in the Havant area to work within specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions catering to pupils with complex needs. The schools we work with are situated in Havant and surrounding areas with primary and secondary pupils of varied needs, but may include:
- Autism
- Behavioural issues
- ADHD
- Anxiety issues
This is a very rewarding job that gives plenty of opportunity for personal development, whilst helping students in need of close mentoring.
The Role:
Hours: 8:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday. Full time is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available.
The salary will vary between £270 - £360 per week depending on the successful candidates experience.
The Candidate:
Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally. Without professional experience any personal experience with the following could help the candidate succeed in this role:
- Criminology
- Psychology
- Youth/Community work experience
- Care worker
- Sports coaching
- Youth offending services
- Challenging behaviour within family
- Mentoring
Applicants will be working in a classroom supporting teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils, so should have a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum.
A minimum of GCSE English and Maths (A-C) is a minimum requirement; with further education being beneficial. Additional qualifications which may be useful include: Team Teach or PECS. Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.
