Job description

Trainee Learning Support Assistant

Location: Bridgend

Hours: 8:30 – 15:30 (Term Time Only)

Pay: £13.70p/hr

Start: From March 3rd

 

Teaching Personnel are recruiting people who are passionate about education and working with children in secondary schools in the Bridgend area to support pupils aged 11-16.

As a Trainee Learning Support Assistant, you will be provided with complimentary yet compulsory online safeguarding training courses to complete whilst registering with Teaching Personnel, followed by a trial placement in a local secondary school. After a successful trial you will then be able to be offered positions in secondary schools, with your dedicated consultant preparing you for success!

Our Trainee Teaching Assistant roles are excellent opportunities for anyone passionate about supporting young people through their educational journeys, many of whom have Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) & other similar learning difficulties. Supporting young learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) & ALN is one of the most rewarding jobs in which you a genuine difference each and every day!

As a Trainee Learning Support Assistant, you will complete comprehensive induction training including: Introduction to being a Teaching Assistant, Level 2 Safeguarding, KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education), and Positive Behaviour training.

  • The Prevent Duty: Safeguarding Students from Radicalization
  • Understanding Autism: Strategies for Effective Support
  • Comprehensive Dyslexia Diploma: Empowering Learners with Reading Difficulties
  • An In-depth Introduction to the Thrive Approach: Promoting Emotional Well-being
  • The Complete SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Diploma: Inclusive Education Strategies

Teaching Personnel also offer opportunities for further career development with trainings including TeamTeach and Cover Supervisor training which will provide you with skills and knowledge that schools highly value and improve future career opportunities.

Successful Trainee Teaching Assistants will have:

  • A passion for education
  • Commitment to completing all required training courses promptly
  • Dedication and willingness to support pupils with a range of needs
  • Transferable social and communication skills from previous employment or hobbies
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service (guidance will be given)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
