Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant Job in Newport - Immediate Start | £13.75/hr+

Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Sector: Welsh Secondary Education
Location: Newport, Wales
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: From £13.75 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel is looking for fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants in or around Newport to join secondary schools across the area. If you're passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact in students' lives, we want to hear from you!

Whether you're new to the education sector or have prior experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team and gain valuable skills. No prior school experience is required as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support to students, helping them develop their personal and social skills

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment

  • Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and ensure students’ well-being

  • Collaborate with teachers and fellow Teaching Assistants to create a supportive classroom atmosphere

  • Adapt to changing classroom dynamics and student needs

Job Requirements:

  • Fluent Welsh speaker (essential)

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we will assist you in obtaining one)

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

  • Two professional references covering the past 24 months

  • Level 2 Safeguarding certification (Training provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
