Job Title: Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant | Full-Time, ASAP Start | Competitive Pay

Location: Newport, Wales
Salary: Starting at £13.89 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and thriving school in Newport, Wales. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs (ALN) and behavioural challenges. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, resilience, and a strong desire to help pupils grow and succeed.

Key Responsibilities of the Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with ALN and behavioural needs.

  • Build trusting relationships with students, offering emotional and social support to promote their well-being.

  • Work closely with the class teacher and other educational staff to contribute to a positive learning environment.

  • Create a safe and inclusive space that fosters pupil development and growth.

  • Adapt to different situations with flexibility, ensuring a supportive environment for all pupils.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (we can assist you in obtaining this).

  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months.

  • Experience with ALN pupils is desirable but not essential. We welcome applicants with personal experience or a strong willingness to develop their skills in supporting special educational needs.
