Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: April 2025 - £13.75 per hour / £82.51 per day.

Full time: 8:30 – 3:30, Monday – Friday

Contract: Temporary, with the potential of a permanent contract offer.

Start date: 28h April 2025

At Teaching Personnel are proud to be working with a secondary school Chepstow which specialises in supporting young people with additional learning needs. We are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to start on the 28th April 2025 to work on a full-time basis to support a range of pupils on both a 1:1 and small group setting.

The pupils are ages range between 11 – 19 and have a range of additional needs. This can include Autism, ADHD and SEMH. Candidates with experience in a school setting are encouraged to apply although this is not essential. A background in care or personal experience will also be advantageous. Training will also be provided within the school.

Responsibilities

  • you will be required to supervise and provide supervision for pupils.
  • You should be versatile and comfortable changing plans to cater for different situations.
  • Build relationships gaining trust and understanding the needs of the pupil.
  • Tailor activities to be demanding and challenging in order to encourage the pupil to learn and develop.
  • Enthusiasm to work with pupils who need additional time to progress.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS cleared & on the update service. (or willing to apply)
  • Registered on the education workforce Council (or willing to apply)
  • Be able to provide 2 of your most recent references.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.

Teaching Personnel will help with the registration process every step of the way.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
