Behaviour Mentor (Teaching Assistant) –
Location: Caldicot
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: From £82.51 per day

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Caldicot. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who want to work closely with students who need additional support with behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

Role Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support to students
-
Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
-
Assist the classroom teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
-
Build trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model
-
Encourage and motivate students to engage in learning
-
Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and the school’s pastoral team to support student progress

Experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, or similar settings)

Calm, approachable, and patient personality

Passion for education and helping students succeed
-
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Two recent and relevant references
-
Right to work in the UK

Willingness to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
