Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)

Location: Bolton
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
DBS Requirement: Child & Adults DBS or willingness to apply

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school in Eccles, Salford, and support our students as they work towards their GCSEs and vocational qualifications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting Learning: Play a crucial role in assisting students both in the classroom and during practical sessions, ensuring they have the support needed to excel academically and vocationally.
  • Individualised Support: Provide tailored support to students with Autism, ADHD, and Moderate to Complex Learning Difficulties, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Promoting Independence: Encourage students to build their skills, confidence, and independence, helping them thrive both in school and in their future endeavors.
  • Collaborative Working: Team up with teachers, SEN specialists, and other staff members to implement effective learning strategies and support plans.
  • Progress Monitoring: Observe and record students' progress, offering feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators to ensure that each student's learning plan is effective and impactful.

About You:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, and Moderate to Complex Learning Difficulties, is advantageous.
  • Qualifications: While a relevant qualification in education or SEN support is desirable, it is not essential.
  • Skills: You should possess excellent communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach to working with colleagues, students, and their families is key.
