We are a specialist school offering a nurturing, trauma-informed environment with small class sizes, perfect for gaining practical experience while making a meaningful impact.

About Us:

Our school provides a structured, quiet setting designed to support students with SEMH needs, including anxiety, depression, and suicidal tendencies. Using a trauma-informed approach, we focus on creating a safe space where students feel understood and valued. With small classes, we tailor our support to meet each student's unique needs, and we are committed to making a real difference in their lives.

This role offers an invaluable opportunity for psychology graduates seeking practical experience in the educational field. You'll gain direct, hands-on experience with students who face complex emotional and mental health challenges, working within a trauma-informed framework. This is an excellent foundation for those aspiring to pursue further studies or a career in educational psychology, mental health, or counselling.

Role Overview:

  • Small Class Sizes: Enjoy the opportunity to work closely with individual students in a quiet, focused classroom environment that allows for deep engagement.
  • Collaboration: Partner with teachers, mental health professionals, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development and well-being.
  • Resilience Building: Help students develop emotional resilience and coping mechanisms through targeted interventions and strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Psychology Graduate: This role is ideal for recent graduates in psychology who are looking to gain experience in educational and mental health settings.
  • Compassionate and Understanding: A strong interest in supporting students facing SEMH challenges, including anxiety, depression, and suicidal tendencies.
  • Trauma-Informed Approach: Eager to learn and apply trauma-sensitive practices in your daily work with students.
  • Calm and Adaptable: Able to remain calm under pressure and flexible in responding to the unique emotional and academic needs of each student.
  • Collaborative: A team player with excellent communication skills, comfortable working alongside educational and mental health professionals.
  • Eagerness to Learn: While experience in education or mental health is helpful, we welcome candidates eager to grow, learn, and gain practical, hands-on experience.

Why Join Us?

  • Hands-On Experience: Gain practical experience working with students who face SEMH challenges, an ideal foundation for those pursuing a career in educational psychology or mental health.
  • Trauma-Informed Training: Be part of a team that prioritises trauma-sensitive approaches to student care, enhancing your understanding of mental health in educational settings.
  • Small Class Sizes: Work in a calm, quiet setting with small classes, allowing for focused, one-on-one support and in-depth engagement with students.
  • Supportive School Environment: Join a close-knit, compassionate team dedicated to the emotional and academic growth of students.
  • Career Development: Access ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and prepare you for future roles in educational psychology or related fields.
