Teaching Assistant – Specialist Secondary School (Complex Learning Difficulties)
Full-Time | Temporary (Potential for Permanent Role) | South Liverpool

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a specialist secondary school? We are seeking a supportive and patient educator to assist students aged 11-19 with complex learning difficulties in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

This full-time, temporary position offers the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The school is set in a beautiful part of South Liverpool, providing a calm and welcoming setting where students can thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students in the classroom and during individual learning sessions, adapting to their unique needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons, using creative and engaging approaches to support students’ learning.
  • Foster a nurturing and structured environment, helping students feel safe, valued, and motivated.
  • Provide personalised support to students with a range of complex learning difficulties, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to implement individualised learning plans.
  • Encourage students’ social, emotional, and communication skills, promoting independence and confidence.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working in specialist settings or supporting students with complex learning difficulties (desirable).
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to helping every student succeed.
  • A positive and proactive attitude, ready to adapt to students’ changing needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
