An opportunity has arisen for a Behavioural Support Assistant to join an alternative provision in Birkenhead, supporting students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. This role requires a dedicated and resilient individual who can provide structure, encouragement, and guidance to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have struggled in traditional school settings.
• Establishing trusting relationships to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using effective behaviour management strategies.
• Encouraging students to engage in education by fostering positive attitudes toward learning.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals to implement personalised support strategies.

Person Specification:

• Experience working with students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or in alternative provision settings is highly desirable.
• A strong ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
• A genuine passion for making a meaningful impact on students' lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
