Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a fluent welsh Teaching Assistant to work in a Year 5 class consisting of 30 pupils in a Welsh Medium Primary School in Caerphilly. The role would include supporting the class teacher and providing interventions for pupils within Key Stage 2, predominantly in Year 5.
Year group: Year5
Pay: GBP10 per hour
Start date: 22nd of February 2020 (permitting staff and children return to school setting)
End date: TBC

Key Information
Area - The school is situated in the Caerphilly local authority.
Number on roll - 195 pupils between 3 and 11 years old on roll. Pupils are taught in seven classes, which include four single-age classes and three mixed-age classes
FSM - On average 26% of pupils have been eligible for free school meals, which is higher than the national average of 18%.
ALN - The school has identified 24% of its pupils as having additional learning needs. This is slightly higher than the national average.
Few pupils come from Welsh-speaking homes.
The ideal candidate is somebody who:
- Has relevant experience in a childcare and/or classroom environment.
- Strong behavioural management or experience working with challenging children.
- Is adaptable to various circumstances.
- Positive, patient and energetic.
- Has the passion to make a real difference.
- Is hands-on and always ready to support the class teacher.
- Can speak welsh fluently to a high standard.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
