Job description

SEMH Sports Coach – Burscough – Immediate Start

Are you passionate about using sport to inspire and support young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are recruiting for an SEMH Sports Coach to join a specialist school in the Burscough area.

The Role:

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs through structured sports sessions

  • Encouraging positive engagement, teamwork, and emotional regulation

  • Delivering tailored physical activities to boost confidence and well-being

  • Managing challenging behaviour with patience and resilience

  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience coaching or leading sports activities, ideally with young people who have SEMH needs

  • A confident, proactive approach with strong behaviour management skills

  • A passion for making a difference through sport

  • A relevant coaching qualification or experience in a similar setting

  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
