Position: Full-Time Sports Coach

About The school:

A dedicated institution that provides a nurturing and supportive environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) are looking for a dedicated sports coach to join their team. All of their students have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) in place, ensuring that their individual needs are met. We are committed to creating an inclusive, engaging, and safe space where our students can thrive, both academically and personally.

Role Overview:

They are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and delivering a sports programme tailored to the unique needs of their students. You will use your skills and expertise to engage students, build positive relationships, and create a supportive environment where every child feels understood and valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an inclusive sports programme that caters to the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s development.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel supported and encouraged.
  • Adapt coaching methods to suit the needs of students with ASD, ADHD, Autism, and other special educational needs.
  • Promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles, while also fostering teamwork, confidence, and social skills.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to both students and staff.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment during all sports activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in sports coaching, preferably within a school or educational setting.
  • Experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and Autism, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of building relationships with SEN students to help them feel supported.
  • Ability to adapt coaching techniques to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for helping children succeed and reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
