Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team in Toxteth, Merseyside. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with challenging behaviour in an educational setting. Your primary focus will be on assisting teachers in managing and improving student behaviour to create a positive learning environment.

Job Duties:

  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour in the classroom
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies as directed by the teaching staff
  • Providing one-to-one support to students with specific behaviour needs
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young adults with behavioural challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, or Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Training in de-escalation techniques

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time hours, contract position
  • Work within a school environment
  • Potential for dealing with challenging behaviour and emotional situations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
